New Features!

We’ve just added some new cool features!

Portfolio custom columns – you can now choose from 38 different metrics to be shown in your portfolio page for quick assessment of the system:

Portfolio totals – you will now see the totals of the portfolio for a quick view of the complete performance:

Watch list comments – keeping track of all of the accounts in your watch list can be a daunting task. To help you, we’ve included a comment column which you can use to comment or attach any related files to the system’s watch which will be visible only to you. The comments will be visible (and editable) from both the dashboard screen and from the system page:

Automatic tagging – if you use a tag in the comment field of a trade or an order, it will be picked up by our systems and the trade will be automatically tagged, saving you time (the tag must exist in your tags, otherwise it will be ignored).

As to our latest contest – there are already over 1,330 traders registered! There are only 6 days left for registration so if you wish to participate but haven’t registered yet, please do so now.

Prizes are in total of $4,000! The contest is sponsored by GO Markets; it is a multi award-winning provider of online (Forex) trading services, offering margin FX and metals trading to individuals and institutional clients world-wide.

More features coming next week – stay tuned!

Wish you a profitable trading week,

Updates And Features

We have several updates and features pushed out in this version update, several of which are to match our statistics to industry standards as asked by our members on a constant basis – it took us a while to complete this task, as it required a large change in our calculations.

So what has been changed?

Gain formula – there is a slight change in the gain formula – it is now time weighted, as required by the Global Investment Performance Standards (or in short “GIPS”) published by the CFA institute. It now represents a value of a dollar which was compounded since the inception of the system.

Monthly change – the monthly change is no longer cumulative, but absolute, so it now shows the change per month based on the balance change during that month.

Monthly metrics now include 3 more metrics:

Pips:

Profit:

and lots:

*The new metrics will become available after the next update of your account.

There is a new section waiting to be released next week, which should be very handy in your trading! Stay tuned!

Wish you a profitable week!

Regards,

The Myfxbook team.

New Feature – Search Profiles.

Those of you who use custom analysis frequently use much of your time configuring the search parameters. We’ve added a new feature to overcome this issue and allow you to quickly anlayse your data using saved search profiles:

The search profiles can be used to quickly access sets of search criteria. The search profile saves all search settings (except the start/end dates) which can be loaded with a click of a button!

Let us know of any feedback you have and any other suggestions or comments!

On the same note, we have a lot of new and exciting features in development waiting to be released during the following weeks, so stay tuned!

Also, FXCM Publisher users should do an update to their order2go api (an update of FXCM) by going to Start>Program Files>FX Order2Go>Update to keep their accounts updating.

Wish you a ton of pips this week! 🙂

New Reviews Sections And Contest Update

We’ve added 2 new reviews sections: VPS Services and EA Programming services reviews:

So go right ahead and add your review if you’ve used any of the services. If you’ve used a service which is not listed, do let us know so we can add it to the list!

Also, the contest is already 11 days in and here are some interesting statistics:

Only 329(23%) of the accounts are profitable, 628(44%) aren’t profitable and 477 (33%) haven’t traded yet or haven’t closed a trade.

Let’s see a scatter chart of accounts’ balances:

The top 2 competitors are very close to each other and far away from the rest – there are still over 19 days left for trading, so at this point the prizes are still up for grabs for everyone.

Trade well!

Custom Analysis Redesigned And Upgraded!

Getting through all of your trades and finding those specific trades you wish to analyze is sometimes a difficult task. To make it easier for you, we’ve redesigned and upgraded the custom analysis:

We’ve added 10 new search criteria:

Timing of the trade – Day of Week and Hour of Day

Trade gain, profit, duration, take profit, stop loss, lots, type and comment

Also, a quick update about our latest contest – there are 1,436 traders competing from 108 countries!

Have a great trading week!

The Myfxbook team.

Tag That Trade!

We’re happy to introduce another unique feature to Myfxbook – trade tagging! Those who use EA’s should be already familiar with the magic analysis capability, which lets you analyze your trades based on the magic number associated to each trade. Unfortunately, manual traders and those who don’t use magic numbers didn’t had such an option, until now.

You can now tag any trade, order, or a history record with an unlimited number of tags:

Then analyze your account by tags (custom analysis button):

And receive a clear picture:

This is a very useful tool, which takes the analysis capability a step further; you can tag trades based on your emotion, your comfort level, system, or any other criteria which comes to mind – the options are unlimited!

If you have any suggestions or comments on this new feature (We’re sure you do! :)), then please let us know by sending a message.

Another change is the strategies section; as mentioned a month ago regarding the strategies change here , we’re making another important change – the yields shown in the strategies section are now of the forward test. Connecting a forward test is a must to make your strategy public.

A quick note regarding the upcoming contest – there are over 1,200 participants 🙂 ! Only 4 days left for registration, so if you haven’t registered yet, please do before registration closes https://www.myfxbook.com/contests/trading-championship-june-2011/4/rules
