New Contests Section Is On The Way

What is a trading community without some competition? Well, that’s what we’re working on and it should be ready soon – Contests.

In order to be able to participate, all you will need to have is a demo account. While the trading will be performed on demo accounts, the prizes will be definitely real!

Due to massive demand asking to use our markets and economic calender widgets on your blogs/websites, we’ve added 2 new widgets (widgets page):

Markets:

And Economic Calendar:

Also, we’ve updated our EA, which resolves minor issues, so anyone using the EA should download and apply the new one (Myfxbook EA).

The Myfxbook team.

Developers API And New Language Released

We’ve been asked multiple times to create an API to be used by some of the talented programmers in our community. Well, now you have it – the Myfxbook API v1.0.

The API allows programmatic access to your account’s data, allowing to create iPhone/Android applications, Facebook applications, customized widgets and more. The API area is accessible from the bottom menu (https://www.myfxbook.com/api) .

Also, thanks to your hard work, the Polish language is nearly completed and therefore released httpss://www.myfxbook.com/pl . It can be selected as the default language either from the homepage (when not logged in), or from your settings area, in the profile tab.

Last but certainly not least, the dashboard news feed was changed to FXstreet.com – one of the largest and leading providers of forex news.

Regards,
The Myfxbook team.

New Charts!

Today we release the highly requested and anticipated analysis capability – analysis by symbol. You can now analyze your trading system and see an exact representation of your trading per each symbol.

This is yet another powerful tool you can use to enhance your trading – take your time and learn the new charts, you will quickly discover how to maximize your system’s profitability by focusing on the symbols your system is most successful trading on.

Entering the ‘Custom Analysis’ panel, you’ll notice a new section – ‘Filter By Symbol’:

Analyzing the system by different symbols, will reveal important information regarding the strengths and weaknesses of your strategy trading with different symbols:

Not deep enough of an analysis for you? No problem – we’ve added even more advanced analysis – directional analysis.

When going to the summary list of your system, you’ll notice an icon on the right of each symbol’s stats:

Clicking on the icon will dissect your trading per the selected symbol per direction (buy/sell)!

You can also switch between pips accumulation and profit accumulation charts (Click on the ‘More’ button).

The new stats will appear as soon as you *update your account.

*Accounts using a custom start date will have to run 2 cycles of updates to calculate the new charts (the first with full account history and second using the custom start), so please allow for 2 updates to complete in order to show the custom start data.

Just a quick note on the translations project – it’s coming along very nicely and we’re impressed by how quickly and how many users are contributing translations. Great job guys!

Also – the success stories section is removed, as it’s just being a “spam magnet” and doesn’t add any value to our community section – if you have an idea for a new section for our community, let us know!

All the best,

The Myfxbook team.

Myfxbook Goes MultiLanguage (Well, Almost)

As you can imagine, we get visitors and traders from all around the world but support only one language currently (yep, English).

We got (and still get) a lot of emails from users, asking us to add more languages so they could benefit from Myfxbook. Translating our platform to new languages would take us a lot of time and resources which we need to keep developing new features, so we now proudly present the translations project – an effort to translate Myfxbook to your language with your help.

The project is voluntary and  you can choose to translate only 1, 5, or 500 sentences, the rest will be translated by other users and will be aggregated.

The status of the translations is updated in real time, and can be seen in the translations home page:

We’ve included the most popular languages based on our traffic, so if your language doesn’t appear there, do let us know and we’ll quickly add it.

We would like to thank anyone who takes part in this project!

You can find the link to the translations area in the bottom menu  (Translations). To help you get started, you can go to the translations help section.

Wish you a great trading week!

The Myfxbook team.

Update – Guys, after just 60 minutes of the translations project release, we’re overwhelmed by the languages requests – all languages will be added (We’ve already added 7 more languages).  Also, looks like the French team are miles ahead of everyone… Will they be the first to complete the translation project? We’ll see!

P.S. You might also experience some slow browsing on our website – this is due to the heavy use of the translation area, and we’re working to resolve it.

Features Improved

We’ve made some improvements for the automatic twitter functionality:

1. You can now use a different twitter account for each one of your connected trading accounts.

2. Limitation options for the number of tweets sent so you won’t over do it  :

  • You can limit the tweets to send only after each X’th trade/order.
  • You can limit the tweets per hour.

We’ve also improved the custom analysis function – you can now include the time of day for even better filtration accuracy:

Have a wonderful trading week!

Minor Updates

We’ve made some minor updates today:

1. System search now includes spark lines to make your life easier when browsing through the systems page.

2. Trading privileges verification no more requires closing a trade; it’s enough to open a pending order, which you may cancel after the trading privileges have been successfully verified.

We’ve also tested, fixed and made our website fully compatible with the Opera browser.

As always, several other bugs which were reported during the week, were fixed.

We’re working on a lot of new and exciting features, so stay tuned!

Trade well!

The Myfxbook team.

2 New Features

Well, it’s been a really stressful week for our servers! We didn’t expect such a quick growth in such a short period of time, which resulted in slow browsing and delayed account processing. We’re glad to say that we’ve successfully added additional servers during the weekend, which should eliminate the load. Just to give you an idea, our servers process over 8000 trading accounts!

Now to the more  interesting part of this post:

We’ve added 2 new highly requested features :

1. The ability to save an image for each of your trades in the history, allowing you to keep an exact record as to why did you enter, exit, lose or profit on a particular trade.

2. Multi-portfolios – We’re aware that most users have multiple demo/real accounts and it’s hard to keep track of all of them. Now you can group your accounts into specific groups, for example demo and real.

Once you create and move an account to a specific portfolio, you will see the group in your portfolio menu, giving you a quick access to your accounts.

(After adding a portfolio, click the ‘Back to Accounts’ button and use the new combo to assign an account to a specific portfolio).

Have a great trading week!

The Myfxbook Team.

Widgets Who?

We always receive the same question – what are widgets and how do I use them? So today we’ve decided to dedicate a blog post regarding this matter (with some new features of course!).

Widgets are just another way of advertising your trading system, either you’re posting in a forum (forum post/signature, use the BB code) , your blog (Html code), or your own website (Html Code). An important thing to note is that even though the widgets are images, the widgets are dynamic and update as soon as your trading data is updated at Myfxbook. So once you post the widget, the data in the widget will always be up to date with the most recent data, with no need to re-post results or manually post updates.

We’ve redesigned the widgets page a bit to make it easier to use and with some new options (ability to link directly to your statements or your member page), you will also see the widgets link in your right upper panel after logging in.

As we’ve also been requested to make some custom widgets with different sizes, today we release the new widgets (Our design team worked hard to achieve the results below so we do hope you like them!)

And we’ve also added a completely customizable graph widget allowing you to create unlimited different layout combinations:

As you can notice in the images, the new widgets show the results as verified by Myfxbook. Obviously, only fully verified accounts will include the “Verified by Myfxbook.com” statement; non verified accounts will only state “Myfxbook.com”.

We’ve also changed the limitation of the widgets to show only in public accounts – if you don’t want to make your account public but still want to use our widgets, it’s now possible.  Please note that in such case the widget will be static and will not update the data.

Another new feature is a timezone setting (Settings, Profile tab):

You can now set your timezone, so all of the website’s timestamps are synced to your local time (including news and economic calendar; statements and trading activity are in GMT as this is the timezone our systems use to perform the calculations).

Also, we had a minor issue with the PDF statement not being created properly on Internet Explorer 8 – it is now fixed.

Have a great trading week!

The Myfxbook team.
